This Privacy Policy describes how the EffAktiv app (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the app.
Data we collect
- Account information: when you sign in with Apple: your email address, name (if shared), and an account identifier. Guest accounts are identified by an app-generated ID only.
- Audio recordings: recordings of your voice made during pronunciation and speaking exercises, uploaded to our servers for analysis.
- Lesson content and progress: texts you paste or generate, exercise results, and learning progress.
- Device identifier: an app-generated device ID used to link guest accounts and enforce usage limits.
How we use your data
- To provide the service: generating lessons, playing audio, analyzing your pronunciation.
- To maintain your account and sync your progress.
- To enforce fair usage limits.
Third-party services
- Apple: Sign in with Apple authentication.
- Google Gemini: AI generation of lesson dialogues, stories and pronunciation analysis.
- Google Cloud Text-to-Speech: synthesis of the lesson audio.
- Cloud object storage: storage of your audio recordings.
We do not sell your data. The app contains no advertising and does not track you across other apps or websites.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account is active. Guest (anonymous) accounts and their data expire automatically after a period of inactivity. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data, including audio recordings, at any time from within the app: Info → Settings → Delete Account.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL.
